Max with friends at the playground.
Climbing, jumping and running around.
A few seconds of rest and Linda manages to take a picture…
… and through all this Sam is sleeping.
After a night with rain and thunder the temperature drops and we all venture out to enjoy the playground at Park Avenue.
Timmy and Max have a lot of fun jumping around.
Anne is a bit more careful.
Snack time for the kids and as usual everybody else’s snack is more tasty! Everybody is sharing!
Max got a blue eye but is just as happy as always!
Max has a last go on the playground before we walk home.
Part of Beijing skyline looking south. The TV tower and the new WTC Tower is standing out.
TV tower close-up as it looked in mid March. The work has progressed a lot since then, but it is still not finished…
Palm Springs a cold winter day.
Part of Beijing skyline looking north over Chao Yang Park.
Roof tops in Beijing.
Hutong area close to 4th ring road.
The hutong areas are getting fewer and fewer as the building of the “modern Beijing ” is progressing
The wait is over… Hard Rock Cafe has now re-open in Beijing after a few months of renovation. The “new” cafe is much better than the old one…
Here we have Linda – she was the one that suggested that we should go here today.
Max enjoys the dessert – Vanilla Milk Shake. His father ordered this for himself – but as you can see Max loves it…
Here we have Britt and Sam. This is the first visit for Sam at Hard Rock cafe. He slept through it…
Britt on the other hand enjoys a hot fudge sundae.
Finally – Micke and Max shares the Milk Shake
This is the only place in Beijing were you can find luxurious cars right now…
There is a new policy that bans all government cars in Beijing right now ( to improve the air for the Olympic Games). The consequence is that we can’t see any BMW 760iL, Mercedes S500, S600 or Audi A8L, A6L on the roads right now….
Can all of these cars be owned by the people of the Government??
When it is too hot to go outside it is time for play-doh.
Max likes to count and is counting everything he sees. Earlier he counted only in English but surprised us yesterday by counting to ten in Swedish as well.
Lego is fun as well and lately it is space shuttles that are most popular.
Sam is not too impressed but is hanging in there like a good little brother.
As a foreigner we need to have visas to be able to stay here in China. We have visas for all of us except for Sam – so we needed to get one as soon as possible… But you need a photo (or actually 2 photos) to be able to apply for the visa. How do you get a 6 weeks old boy to open his eyes on command?
Here we have the first try…. As you can see he is very happy! He didn’t like to wake up and to see a lot of flashes from the camera.
What are you doing to me????
15th try??? This one should work. His eyes are open – great!
Today we started the hunt for a new apartment here in Beijing. Why?? We are now 4 persons so our current apartment is getting too small and also – we would like to move to the Lido area… Lido is closer to Max new school and to my new office. If I have the time I might be able to take the bike to the office but that will most likely not happen…. I have too many good excuses…
Apartments.. We looked at 5 different apartments today…
This picture is from the first apartment… The layout was not so good and the kitchen counters were only 80 cm high…
Max is trying out the floor – dirty….
Second apartment… The layout was much better than the first one but look at the lamps… Another strange thing that Britt could not accept was that the kitchen counters blocked the kitchen door and in the bath room the shower door collided with the toilet… Strange arrangements….
Now we are on the 27th floor in the 3rd apartment for the day. Very nice view but look at the windows and you might see how dirty they are.
If you look at the floor you will see how dirty the apartment is. This must be one of the dirtiest apartments that I ever have seen
We found it!!! Great apartment… It has 4 bedrooms and the size is 294 square meters. Good layout and a nice open kitchen. Also – the furniture are from the store were we planned to buy furniture for our new apartment -so that makes it even better. Lets see if we can get this one…
After a very long day out looking at apartments Sam takes a nap on his daddy’s shoulder…
Welcome to our new blog site! Everything is not yet up and running but we are working on it…..
Most pictures are still located at blogger.com…..
