There is something that is very hard to find here in Tokyo! Today I bought a coffe and Dean and Deluca and when I had finished the coffee the hunt for a trash can started… I had to walk with the coffee cup for 20 minutes before I found one.

Look closely… They are working in a store and throwing out a lot of garbage but the interesting part is that they put blue plastic on the sidewalk for protection.

We visited Max´school today for a parent/teacher meeting and got to take a photo of the “last part” of the silkworm story. The moths are out, they mate and the male moth dies and after the eggs are laid the female moth dies as well. All in all this takes about three days ….

Went to a furniture market today to maybe find something nice to bring home…. it is not an easy task, because there are so many things to choose from…. Any form and colour you can think of or want…. You name what you want and they make it for you. This will take some time…..

Max proudly showed me how they have made little red “houses “ for their silkworms. Some now are making their cocoons in them whereas some have chosen a corner. Everybody is now waiting for the first moth to appear.

A line up and pep-talk outside an office…. this is a common sight here in Beijing. You see them outside restaurants, at the airport or like here outside an office . They march, sing, shout and prepare themselves for  yet another day at work.

Upper East Side – where we live – is quite popular but even so we see agents trying to sell properties here daily. The market is slowing down and the latest figures tells us that there are 14.4 million square meters of vacant properties here in Beijing……An unbelievable figure that is!!

Looking outside today I see nothing but a great white wall. There was some promise of rain…. which would be a great relief, both for the air and the drought. But nothing so far. Last rain we had was on Feb 12, at that time the first rain since Oct 26 last year. A dry spell of 110 days. But even so this was not a natural rain but a man- made one. Apparently 25 ground teams shot rockets in the atmosphere around Beijing to induce rainfall. The drought is bad and affecting millions of people and animals around these parts.
